FIA is involved in illegal exodus of Pakistanis, says Zulfi Bukhari

Islam Abad: Former Special Assistant Zulfi Bukhari has said that FIA is involved in illegal migration of Pakistanis.

Zulfi Bukhari suggested privatizing the process of sending Pakistani workers abroad for employment. Speakers at the conference on the occasion of International Migrants Day gave a comprehensive plan to give consular access to Pakistanis imprisoned abroad and to provide them basic rights. The need for practical adoption was emphasized.

Zulfi Bukhari said that no one can go abroad illegally without the consent of FIA, FIA is involved in illegal going abroad of Pakistanis. He said that the present government had made sending Pakistani workers abroad subject to biometrics and increased the number of community welfare attachs.

Federal Minister for National Food Security Fakhr Imam said that migrants are the backbone of the country’s economy and it is the responsibility of the mission abroad to take care of Pakistanis in jails.

At the conference, MPs, civil society representatives and experts presented their views on topics such as safe return of migrants, laws, policies, safe migration plans and conditions of detainees and return of overseas Pakistani prisoners.
