ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet has decided that employees recruited on daily wage, contract, temporary and ad hoc basis will not be made permanent.

In a briefing of the cabinet meeting, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that due to expensive contracts of Nawaz era, electricity prices have gone up, Rs 134 billion has been paid to IPPs, all indicators of economy are going positive.

He said that the Federal Cabinet had approved the amendment in the Election Act to prevent horse trading in Senate elections and to make ballot papers identifiable.

Fawad Chaudhry said that those who are giving speeches to take over the economy today have drowned the economy by taking loans in their time. In five years, we have to repay the 55 55 billion loan taken by Nawaz Sharif and Zardari.

The Cabinet approved the nomination of former SBP Governor Shamshad Akhtar as a member of the Port Qasim Authority Board.
