San Francisco (Daily Pakistan Online) After the purchase of the social networking site Twitter by Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, there is a possibility that a large number of employees will be laid off. In the first phase, 25 percent of Twitter employees could be sent home.
According to NDTV, the Washington Post, citing a person familiar with the matter, reported that negotiations regarding the reduction in the number of employees were led by Elon Musk’s lawyer, Alex Spiro. According to regulatory filings, Twitter had more than 7,000 employees by the end of 2021, and a quarter of that is about 2,000.
Elon Musk fired Twitter chief executive Prag Agarwal, finance chief Ned Segal and legal affairs and policy chief Vijay Gade on Thursday as soon as Elon Musk took control of Twitter, according to Reuters.
