The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has written a letter to the Ministry of Science and Technology (MST) seeking immediate provision of 50 EVMs on electronic voting machines (EVMs) in Islamabad.
The Election Commission has said in the letter that fictitious elections will be held on these machines so that local body elections can be held on EVM.
The Election Commission had sought 3900 EVMs for the local body elections in Islamabad on which the Ministry of Science and Technology apologized and asked to provide EVMs only for the mayoral election.
