Islamabad: Financial irregularities have been revealed in the Karachi Green Line project.

The meeting of the Public Accounts Committee of the Parliament was chaired by Chairman Noor Alam Khan, the committee expressed its anger on the officials of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs for not holding the meetings of the departmental accounts committees and directed to cut their salaries.

The audit authorities said that Karachi Port Trust gave more than 6 billion 23 crore rupees bonus to the employees 4 times a year from 2011 to 2020, during which the institution did not earn profit many times, on which Noor Alam Khan said, on the one hand, we are the IMF and They are asking for a loan from the World Bank and on the other hand this is a bonus, the illegal allowance should be withdrawn, no bonus will be given on any future Eid.

The sub-committee meeting of the Public Accounts Committee was chaired by Burgess Tahir. The participants deferred review of audit objections related to National Logistics Cell in the absence of DGNLC.

According to online, in the meeting, the Committee on Disclosure of Financial Irregularities in the Karachi Green Line Project ordered an investigation to the Ministry of Planning.

Senate Standing Committee for Cabinet Secretariat Chairman Rana Maqbool Ahmed said in the meeting that our mandate is not to recruit for Grade 17 jobs of Senate and National Assembly. The committee sought a report on LPG cylinder explosions in one and a half months.
