Islamabad: The Ministry of Finance has released the details of financial operations from July 2022 to March 2023.
According to the Ministry of Finance, in the first 9 months of this financial year, 3.58 trillion rupees debt was paid, while in the same 9 months, Pakistan’s income was 3.4 trillion rupees.
Government expenditure, including defence, salaries, development and subsidies, was paid from the loan proceeds.
According to the details released by the Ministry of Finance, in the first 9 months, 3.07 trillion rupees had to be borrowed to meet the deficit, from July 22 to March 23, the total income of the country was 6.39 trillion.
According to the details, 2.95 trillion rupees were paid to the provinces under the NFC award, after the payment to the provinces, 3.44 trillion remained with the center.
From July 22 to March 23, 3.58 trillion rupees were spent on debt repayment, the center went into deficit after paying the debt and interest and giving the share to the provinces.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the government collected 362 billion rupees through the petroleum products tax, 3.1 trillion rupees were spent on internal debt repayment, 0.47 trillion rupees were spent on foreign debt, while one trillion rupees was spent on defense from July 22 to March 23.
