Decision to shut down mobile phone service in Islamabad back


OIC delegates to be provided foolproof security: Sheikh Rashid

Islam Abad: The government has withdrawn its decision to shut down mobile phone service in Islamabad.

Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid while talking to media said that Interior Ministry, Chief Commissioners and Police have decided not to shut down mobile service. Saturday and Monday are local holidays. The decision on leave in the Secretariat will be taken by the Cabinet Division.

Sheikh Rashid said that the delegates coming to the OIC meeting are our guests. No compromise will be made on security. Foreign delegates have been directed to provide foolproof security.

Earlier, a meeting of senior officials was held at Safe City headquarters under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid. Participants were briefed on the security of the ICAO Conference. The meeting was attended by DG Rangers, Chief Commissioner, IG Islamabad, DC Islamabad.
