Commenting on Pulwama attack became a crime, Muslim student sentenced to 5 years in prison

New Delhi: In India, a Muslim student was sentenced to 5 years in prison for the ‘crime’ of commenting on the Pulwama attack.

According to Indian media, a special court in Bengaluru sentenced 22-year-old Muslim engineering student Faiz Rashid to 5 years in prison and a fine of 25,000 rupees.

Faiz Rasheed was 19 years old at the time of Pulwama incident and he had shared a post related to Pulwama incident on Facebook. The police arrested Faiz Rasheed immediately after the post and he has been in jail for three and a half years.

A biased court in India accused Faiz Rasheed of celebrating the Pulwama incident in 2019 and sharing 24 posts on social media expressing happiness.
