Pakistani hero Naeem Rashid (Naeem Rashid) was killed in an attempt to prevent the attack on the Christchurch mosque. He was awarded New Zealand’s highest bravery award, the New Zealand Cross.
According to foreign media reports, Abdul Aziz, who survived the attack, was also awarded the New Zealand Cross.
The Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern described the award as a civilian award equivalent to the Victoria Cross, which had only been awarded twice in New Zealand before.
Eight other people who fought the Christchurch attack were awarded medals for bravery, including two police officers who arrested the attacker.
It should be noted that in 2019, the Christchurch mosque was attacked by terrorists in an attempt to stop it. In addition to Naim Rashid of Abbottabad, Pakistan, his 22-year-old son Talha Naim And 51 Muslims died in the line of duty.
