Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay an important visit to Russia next week.
Chinese Foreign Ministry informed that President Xi Jinping will visit Russia from March 20 to 22.
This will be the first visit by a Chinese president to Russia since the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Earlier in September 2022, the President of China met his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that President Xi Jinping is going there at the request of the Russian President.
According to the statement issued by Moscow, the two leaders will discuss further improvement of mutual relations.
The statement said that important agreements will be signed during this time, but did not elaborate on this.
The Chinese president’s visit comes at a time when China has called for a ceasefire and a negotiated settlement between Ukraine and Russia.
Similarly, after the destruction of the American military drone in the Black Sea, the tension between the United States and Russia has increased.
