Ottawa: In Canada, a driver rammed a truck into pedestrians, resulting in the death of 2 people.
According to a foreign news agency, 9 people were also injured in the incident that happened in the Canadian city of Quebec. The rescue workers shifted the dead bodies and the injured to the hospital. The condition of some of the injured is critical.
Police officials say that the 38-year-old truck driver has been arrested. Investigations are ongoing from all aspects of the incident. The people killed in the incident were 60 and 70 years old. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has expressed his condolences to the families of the dead and injured.
Eyewitnesses of the incident say that the truck first hit several pedestrians standing on the footpath and then went about 500 meters away and hit other people as well.
