Cabinet meeting, people are asking questions on gas load shedding, federal ministers

Islam Abad: In a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the federal ministers openly expressed their grievances over gas load shedding.

Discussing the issue of gas shortage, the ministers said that people were questioning the load shedding of gas, if there was no supply of gas to the export industry then exports would be affected.

During the meeting, Minister for Energy Hamad Azhar apprised about the gas reserves, ground realities and government measures. While according to the government survey 95% of the industry is running.

Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the industrial units to ensure uninterrupted supply of gas and formed a three-member committee comprising Senators Shaukat Tareen, Hamad Azhar and Abdul Razzaq Dawood.

In the meeting of the Federal Cabinet, the Prime Minister also directed the Export Industry and General Industry to review the supply of gas.

According to sources, the issue of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) was also discussed in the meeting in which Federal Minister for Science and Technology Senator Shibli Faraz has been assigned the task of meeting the Chief Election Commissioner.

Later, during a briefing on the federal cabinet, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry on the defeat of PTI in the local body elections in Khair Pakhtunkhwa said that no election is lost due to inflation while there are governance and other factors.

Fawad Chaudhry denied that the party was considering a proposal to join the Tehreek-e-Lubaik Pakistan (TLP). He clarified that there was no proposal in the party to meet TPL.

Fawad Chaudhry said that at present all economic indicators in Pakistan are positive, the country’s economic situation is clearly showing stability.

He said that this year alone we have to repay .2 12.27 billion debt, in 2023 also .5 12.5 billion debt has to be repaid while this debt is taken by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former President Asif Ali Zardari. Billions of dollars to repay.
