ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that white collar crime and mega corruption cases are the top priority. According to the law, NAB has no affiliation with any individual, party or institution but this affiliation is with the country and in the performance of its duties. Ending corruption has become the voice of the whole nation as it is not only a major obstacle to national development It also deprives deserving people of their rights. Pakistan is facing the challenge of corruption which is the root of all problems. In addition, the restructuring and accuracy of the NAB’s procedures has enhanced the NAB’s reputation and the agency is working to eliminate all forms and forms of corruption.
Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal said that Pakistan is committed to a corruption-free Pakistan National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and under this slogan, the Accountability Institution is pursuing a policy for all which is yielding positive results. Leading national and international organizations such as PLDAT and Mashal Pakistan have not only praised the NAB’s efforts to eradicate corruption, but 59% of people have expressed confidence in the NAB’s performance in the Gilani and Gallup polls.
He said that the present management of NAB has for the first time brought the big fishes to justice and directly and indirectly recovered Rs. 1278 cases of corruption worth Rs. 1335 billion are pending in various Accountability Courts which are under hearing. The NAB is committed to bring the mega-cases of corruption to a logical conclusion in accordance with the law.
