PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has fined several PPP leaders, including Chairman PPP (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, for violating the Electoral Code of Conduct.
The PPP celebrated its founding day in Peshawar on November 30 and held a rally attended by key leaders. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has fined Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Murad Ali Shah, Khursheed Shah, Saeed Ghani, Nisar Khorro and Qadir Patel Rs 50,000 each for violating the code of conduct for local body elections. Besides, Nighat Orakzai, a female PPP leader, has been given a warning by the Election Commission. The Election Commission has clarified that in case of repeated violations, disqualification proceedings may be initiated.
