Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) sources said that the canal at the site of the blast in Sher Shah was 5 to 6 feet wide.
KMC sources said that the bank was located at the place where the canal was passing and at the place where the blast took place, the canal was 5 to 6 feet wide.
Sources said that the constructions on the canal are very old with no details.
Sources of Sindh Building Control Authority said that most of the buildings constructed on the drain are 6 storey from which rent of lakhs of rupees is collected.
Deputy Commissioner Kemari said that notices were issued for these constructions under the Anti Encroachment Act.
It may be recalled that a private bank building was completely destroyed in an explosion in Sher Shah area of Karachi and 14 people including the father of PTI leader Alamgir Khan were killed.
