KARACHI (Monitoring Desk) A new ‘e-payment system’ has been introduced by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) which can potentially replace ATMs of banks. According to the news website ‘ProPakistani’, this digital payment system of NADRA will be capable of meeting all types of digital payment and cash needs.
This system is being introduced by NADRA in partnership with Pakistan’s largest and licensed payment gateway system ‘OneLink’. The system will operate through NADRA’s pre-existing ‘e-facility franchise’. Currently, NADRA has more than 17,000 e-facility outlets across the country, which will be converted into ATMs. However, these ATMs will be equipped with all kinds of digital payment features.
Through these e-facilitation centers, people will not only be able to deposit and withdraw cash in this new system of NADRA, but also transfer funds from the public to the government, from the government to the public and from the public to the public. According to the report, this agreement between NADRA and OneLink has been finalized today. The agreement was signed by Nadra Chairman Tariq Malik and OneLink Chief Executive Officer Najeeb Agarwal.
