Muscat: The engine of the Indian airline company Air India Express suddenly caught fire at the airport of the capital of Oman, after which the passengers had to be evacuated from the plane.
According to the Indian media, a fire suddenly broke out in the passenger plane of the Indian Airlines Company, ready to depart from Muscat, the capital of Oman, to the Indian city of Kochi. Smoke billowed everywhere on the runway and aviation officials raced.
The airport authorities immediately took the passengers out of the plane and shifted them to a safe place and called the fire brigade. The fire broke out in the engine, which was quickly brought under control.
There were 141 people in the plane. Fortunately, there was no loss of life in the accident, but some passengers sustained minor injuries and were given medical attention at the airport. The passengers were sent to another plane.
The cause of the engine fire has not been determined. Aviation and the airline company formed an inquiry committee to investigate the incident.
