A horrific blast near Sher Shah Paracha Chowk in Karachi killed 15 people and injured 16 others
KARACHI (92 News) – At least 15 people were killed and one injured in a horrific blast near Sher Shah Paracha Chowk in Karachi.
The condition of three people injured in the blast is critical, including the father of MNA Alamgir Khan.
According to police, the blast occurred due to gas filling in the drain. Another explosion took place during the rescue operation. The two-story building was built over a drain.
According to eyewitnesses, there was an explosion in the gas pipeline a few days ago but no action was taken.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the Karachi blast and directed the commissioner to conduct a detailed inquiry. The Health Secretary directed to immediately provide all necessary facilities to the injured in the Civil Hospital.
Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani said there was a strong possibility that the blast was caused by gas filling, the building was illegally built on a drain. In Karachi, unfortunately, thousands of buildings are built on canals. Political parties interfere in the operation against illegal buildings. There is also resistance from the people.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar expressed sorrow over the loss of precious lives in Karachi blast and offered condolences to the bereaved families.
