A user has reported that his iPhone’s battery was charged from 23% to 100% in three hours. However, Adrian Kingsley Huffs, a researcher at ZDNet, has revealed the real reason behind the problem faced by users.
Adrian Kingsley has mentioned that when you update the operating system, a lot of content in the iPhone starts running in the background, which puts a strain on the battery and starts draining the battery faster than before. In some cases this situation lasts for hours but in some cases it may take several days for the phone to return to its original state.
Adrian said that iPhone users experiencing this issue after the 16.5 update should check their iPhone’s battery health. If the battery health is fine, then installing a new operating system is draining the battery due to applications running in the background or there is a bug in the phone.
