New Delhi: In the Indian state of Assam, a clove leaf sold for a record price of one lakh rupees.

According to Indian media, a kilogram of tea leaves, known as Gold Tea, a tea company in Assam, sold at a record price of Rs 100,000.

The tea leaf manufacturing company says that Gold Tea is made from a very rare, precious and exquisite type of leaves and buds. The company produces 10 kg of gold tea every year but this year only 2 kg of gold tea was produced.

The climate of Assam is very conducive to the cultivation of tea and many expensive varieties of tea leaves are grown there. Purple Orillo tea is now being grown in Assam.
